Him being back from underway has been easier to handle with him being away in general.

When he’s not on duty, he makes time to call text and skype me. But most of the time I tell him to go out and have a good time with his other navy buddies. And for that, he’s so appreciative and this makes me happy. Out of all the years that we were bestfriends, this is the closest we’ve ever been. And recently we’ve been enjoying the fact that we can talk frequently instead of being down about the fact he is away. We’re both growing as individuals and rediscovering each other along the way, and even after all this time, I’ve never realized how alike we are. I love that we can be open about our feelings and still act like we’re bestfriends. Sigh.
